Board of Directors
Our donors benefit from the knowledge, commitment, and oversight of Board members and community experts.
Executive Committee: Charged with governance, legal and regulatory issues, and Board effectiveness, the Executive Committee convenes between meetings of the Board.
Finance Committee: Responsible for fiduciary oversight, policies, and internal controls; regular review of financial statements and budgets; and asset allocations for all investments.
Investment Committee: Comprised of professional financial advisors, bankers, trust officers, and Board members, the Investment Committee meets quarterly to review investment performance, decide asset allocation, and determine the best investment vehicles for our endowment funds, trusts, charitable gift annuities, and other assets.
Audit Committee: Board members, certified public accountants, and other individuals with financial backgrounds, monitor our financial position, engage the independent auditor, establish financial policy, and review internal controls.
Development Committee: This committee develops and implements strategies that promote philanthropy in southwest Washington and encourage giving through the Community Foundation.
Professional Advisory Council: Consisting of professional advisors involved in the practice of charitable giving, the Council serves as emissaries to potential donors; a conduit to the professional advisor community; and consultants to the Community Foundation, providing insights on emerging trends and gift planning techniques.
Children’s Trust Fund Grants Advisory Committee: Comprised of community members whose area of expertise is children’s issues, the Committee meets each winter to review grant proposals from non-profit organizations that are supporting the needs of struggling children in southwest Washington.
Community Giving Fund Grants Advisory Committee: The Committee meets annually to review grant proposals from non-profit organizations funding a broad range of issues including: arts/culture, civic/community, conservation/environmental, education, and health & human services.
Cowlitz County Community Fund Grants Advisory Committee: The Committee meets annually to review grant proposals from nonprofit organizations located in Cowlitz County. Funding areas include a broad range of issues: arts/culture, children, civic/community, conservation/environmental, education and health and human services.
La Center Casinos Charitable Fund Grants Advisory Committee: The Committee meets quarterly to review grant proposals from non-profit organizations funding a broad range of issues including: arts/culture, civic/community, conservation/environmental, education, and health & human services.
Lewis River Legacy: Provides oversight to the Lewis River Legacy Fund whose purpose is to provide support to conservation and low-impact recreation to the Clark County parks on the north fork of the Lewis River.
Forestland Advisory Committee: Professional foresters, at least one representative from the Washington Farm Forestry Association, and a Board member review management of gifts of forestland.
