Our reputation for excellence results in top honor

We are the recipient of the 2007 Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation Award for bringing about dynamic community change through encouragement, motivation, and innovative philanthropy. Presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, we join the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, the Ray Hickey Foundation, and the Paul G. Allen Foundation, among other premier foundations, in being recognized for encouraging nonprofit organizations and providing innovative approaches to philanthropy.

Our organizational and financial practices commended by the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations

The Community Foundation adheres to a strict set of standards established by The Council on Foundations and leaders in the community foundation field. These standards establish legal, ethical, and effective operational practices. Intended as both a measure of internal organizational controls and external performance, the 43 standards assess six key areas of our Foundation’s operations. To the public, they demonstrate our transparency, integrity, and financial responsibility. We were among the first 150 of the United State’s 700 community foundations to receive this recognition.
