The Community Foundation has created Facebook and Twitter pages to better communicate with you online! By posting and tweeting, we can interact with our donors, professional advisors, community members, non-profits and the media in a timely and socially relevant manner.
Twitter is a social networking site that allows you to answer the question, "What are you doing?" by sending short text messages to your friends and followers. It also allows to to "follow" the activities and messages of an organization like the Community Foundation.
Facebook is a social networking service that lets you connect with friends, co-workers, and organizations like the Community Foundation who share similar interests or who have common backgrounds.
Please note that you don't need to have an account to view our Facebook or Twitter pages. But if you'd like to "follow" us on Twitter or comment on our Facebook page, you'll need to create your own accounts. Below are easy to follow instructions to help you set up accounts in Facebook and Twitter
Setting up a Twitter account is free and easy. Simply:
|
| 1. |
Go to http://twitter.com/cfsww and click the green "Join today" button. |
| 2. |
From there you will be prompted to enter your full name (this is how people search for you.) |
| 3. |
Then select and enter a user name. (This can be ANYTHING you want it to be, but remember that anyone who uses the Internet can see your user name.) |
| 4. |
Give an email address to associate the account with. |
| 5. |
Set up a Twitter profile. (If you like, you can add your picture, bio etc. through "account settings" in the upper right hand corner.) |
| 6. |
Once you have created your account you can search for us by hitting the search button (bottom of the page) and typing in CFSWW. |
| 7. |
"Follow" the Foundation by clicking the follow button under our picture on the upper left-hand corner of the profile. Once you are following us you will see any updates we post. |
