| Grantmaking Programs
The Youth Philanthropy Program grants cycle is now closed. The Youth Philanthropy students are currently in the review process and will be awarding 2012 grants in late spring. The final list of 2012 grants will be posted below at that time.
With guidance from the Community Foundation and a local educator, the Youth Philanthropy Program is designed to provide junior and senior high school students the opportunity to learn more about their community’s needs and about the many different ways in which they can help address those needs.
Together, students identify issues most important to their peer group and determine which nonprofit organizations most effectively address those issues. Students develop a grant application and review process and conduct site visits and volunteer activities at applicant organizations’ facilities. They ultimately recommend grants to the Community Foundation Board of Directors they feel will have a significant impact.
Funding for this program is provided by contributions from the general public and through the Community Foundation’s Community Giving Fund.
