Grantmaking Programs
Community Giving Fund. Funded by gifts from many donors, ranging from a few dollars to many thousands of dollars, the Community Foundation supports community-based efforts to address local issues. A grants committee reviews each Grant Inquiry Form, then invites specific organizations to submit full proposals. The grants committee evaluates each proposal and makes recommendations to the Community Foundation Board of Directors, annually. The Board awards grants to programs and projects that improve the quality of life for residents of Southwest Washington. Any nonprofit organization with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or municipality may submit a Grant Inquiry Form.

Impact Grant. The purpose of Community Foundation Impact Grants (awarded from the Community Giving Fund) is to provide funding for a one-time project that will serve the community in the broadest sense. Examples may be a new facility or funding for completion of a one-time initiative. It is anticipated that an impact grant will be awarded every 2-3 years, as funding becomes available.
