Funds Established by Individuals and Families
Donor Advised and Field of Interest Funds. The Community Foundation’s Donor Advised and Field of Interest Fund granting programs give donors the ability to be actively involved in selecting non-profit organizations to receive support. The majority of our grantmaking dollars are awarded through these types of funds. The Community Foundation accepts recommendations year-round from fund advisors, who work with Foundation staff to ensure their granting has the greatest impact, based on their charitable interests.
If you have specific programs and projects you would like to keep us informed of, please call our Donor Services and Grants Officer. This is one of the many tools we use to keep our donors informed of community needs.
Designated Funds. Many Community Foundation grants are made from designated funds, which are funds that have been established to support one or more specific organizations. Although nonprofit organizations benefit from the grants they receive from designated funds, you may not apply to these funds for support. All nonprofit organizations receiving grants from designated funds must complete a Final Grant Report by March 1 of the year following their last grant award.
