As the Community Foundation staff and board outlined new strategic goals in 2013, moving our offices to the core of downtown Vancouver seemed like a natural fit for increasing community engagement. Little did we know, our new digs would already feel a little bit like home.

The new address of the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington is now 610 Esther Street, Suite 201, Vancouver, Washington 98660. This also happens to be the first-ever address that our 30-year-old organization occupied back in 1987.

At the time, the space met our budgetary needs. When we moved in September, we met new organizational needs with a more accessible office that also allows our staff to be more visible in the community. Additionally, the facility includes an 875-square-foot community room with seating for up to 60 people and an adjacent, partially covered patio.

This space will serve us well as we work to collaborate more with community partners and provide a welcoming space for public engagement and conversation. We also feel that our presence will complement the Vancouver City Center Vision Plan, which aims to bring more vibrancy to the downtown core. Sitting in a mixture up-and-coming development places us in the front row of what looks to be a rising future for southwest Washington.
